NEW-ISH

Delicate Arch - Marker & Acrylic on Paper

Gobblers Knob - Marker on Paper

I apologize for my unexpected hiatus from the blog. But am glad I can at least say I was a little productive. Above are a couple pieces I did with a style I have been trying out. I have been playing with the idea for a couple months now. Feeling like a breakthrough was had over the weekend so going to roll with it... for now.

Enjoy!

DIAMOND DUST

Wow! Artist Judith Braun is the creator of this wonderful mural. She refers to her method as "fingerings" using fingers and fine powder ground from charcoal. Really amazing work! More here - Judith Braun.

LEGOS

Minimalistic Lego (which I believe started as pixel) art by Jung Von Matt. Very awesome idea! Can you guess who the characters are?

PIXAR MINIMAL POSTERS

How could you not enjoy at least one of the films from this poster collection. Pixar is always producing masterpieces to help the young and old stay young. These minimalistic posters were created by Australia based Wonchan Lee. Enjoy!

AMSTERDAM DRAWING

I will forever admire the architecture around The Netherlands. Some of the building tops in Amsterdam. Done with Faber-Castell artist pen (brush style marker) and 3 tones of gray Prismacolor markers.

ANDY GILMORE

From the site theghostlystore:

"A master of color and geometric composition, Andy Gilmore's work is often characterized as kaleidoscopic and hypnotic, though it could just as well be described as visually acoustic, his often complex arrangements referencing the scales and melodies in music."

Well said... I could really look at these and plenty of his other works for days!
