WATERTOWER

Came across this on a shoe companies blog. Looks/sounds like a good reason to save up and head back to NYC for a visit. Below is the info they had on the project...

Watertower by Tom Fruin is composed of 1,000 pieces of salvaged NYC plexiglas and sits in DUMBO, Brooklyn.

According to Gizmodo:
Beginning June 7th, the tower will be lit from within by digitally-controlled light sequences playing from dusk till morning for a full year. A welcome addition to Brooklyn’s skyline, Watertower will be visible from Lower Manhattan, FDR Drive, and the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges at night.

FELT-TIP GUITAR ART

Sharpie in hand, artist Patrick Fisher takes instrument personalization to another level. Such amazing detail, wish I could hold them and take a closer look.

THINK GREEN

PINS

The wonderfully done pieces 'drawing (pins)' done by artist Tara Donovan are made up of tens of thousands of nickel-headed thumbtacks embedded in board in varying degrees, generating detailed texture and movement. Really cool!

BACK WITH MORE

Guy Laramee (previous post) will ALWAYS impress me with these. Do enjoy!

LAND ART

Seems unbelievable that no photo editing was done, but it's true. Artist Sylvain Meyer made them happen by hand. Very nice!
