ANOTHER EINSTEIN

A little late night inspiration. Albert gets me every time! Did some research but nothing came up on this painting or painter. Anyone? Some good words.

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination takes you everywhere.

BIRDS OF METAL

Here are only a handful of works done by artist Barbara Franc. This collection of birds is made up from recycled and discarded materials such as wire and old food tins. I enjoy the color but my favorite aspect has to be the lines created by the wire.

INSIDE THE MASTERS

You've most likely seen these pictures on my Facebook. But I like them so will share them again. Showing what we could imagine are the insides of some of the masters of art. Such a great idea and wonderful execution!

SALVADOR DALI

Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it.

Surrealism is destructive, but it destroys only what it considers to be shackles limiting our vision.

VINCENT VAN GOGH

If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.

Paintings have a life of their own that derives from the painter's soul.

PABLO PICASSO

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.

The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.

The world today doesn't make sense, so why should I paint pictures that do?

Speaking of the Facebook. I have made it possible for you to "like" individual posts. Finally doing my part to help the slack.

MANHOLE COVER ART

Japan. More and more I want to visit. Back in the 1980s manhole covers in Japan started transforming into small works of art. While some aspects remain the same, they differ slightly according to the region of Japan you're in. I'm sure this is only a handful compared to what you could find walking around. They're a great reminder to always be looking up, down, and around while walking the town. Enjoy!

CUT, SLICE & FOLD

I am really enjoying the idea and execution behind these. Artist Lisa Rodden cuts, slices, and folds thick layers of white paper on top of acrylic painting. Very pleasing to the eye!

CLASSIC CLIP ART

I do enjoy a good collage. Even more so when its taken to this level of detail, it makes them so entertaining to pick apart. Artist Vik Muniz sure does a fine job with these recreations of famous paintings by Van Gogh, Manet, Cézanne and other artists using cut and torn fragments from popular magazines.

ORBITAL

Beautifully done photographs made from colorful soap film in contrast with a stark black background. The series is titled "Orbital" and its by artist Bjoern Ewers (previously)
